300 George Street Blogumentary
Links to past time lapse videosHere's a bunch of time lapse videos from Bernard. As I mentioned in my previous post this week I will no longer be sharing time lapses, so if you want to keep updated please subscribe to Bernard's YouTube channel.
W Hotel curved window installationThose W Hotel curved windows look amazing from the ground level. When I first saw them I thought they surely must be a single piece installs but I was wrong. Each curved window is made up of about 7 separate facets. Here are some pictures and a time lapse video of their installation.
First two time lapse videos for 2017Since there was no progress on site during the later parts of December 2016 and beginning of January, there won't be any time lapse videos for that period. Below are the first two time lapses from Bernard for 2017 however, enjoy!
Time lapse footage of the 1 William Street construction over the past two years I've put together all of the footage of the 1 William Street construction from my Riverside Expressway Cam. It's not quite 300 George Street, but you can see the cranes from that construction in these videos too. The footage captures shots taken between June 2014 to December 2016. There are two videos, a day time one and a night time one.
A time lapse bonanza - September 23 to November 4Here's a collection of six time lapse videos from Bernard covering the period between September 23rd and November 4th. There hasn't been a time lapse update in a while so here they all are in one go. Enjoy!
Some photos and video from Riverfire 2016Here are some photos and videos I took this past weekend when Riverfire was on. Not too many this time around, I was concentrating more on watching it rather than taking photos and videos. Still there are some good photos below.
RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter fly over the CBDI happened to be home today when the RACQ CQ Rescue helicopters did a fly over in the Brisbane CBD. Here are a few photos I took, as well as a short video below.
Climbing formwork explanation videoHere's an interesting video that explains how a climbing formwork is put together and moved up with each new floor being created. The video is a little dated and I'm sure the technologies has improved since but it gives a nice overview of what's involved
Time lapse of the site between 19th and 26th February 2016Here's another time lapse video from Bernard showing the site between the 19th and 26th of Feburary. This video has footage of the fourth crane being assembled. Its easy to miss but if you look at around the 0:33 mark you will see it, it's fully assembled by the 0:45 mark.
Time lapse of the site between 5th and 12th February 2016Here's another time lapse video from Bernard showing the site between the 5th and 12th of Feburary. I noticed that there are quite bright lights on during the night now, guess that's to allow work to continue over night.
More time lapse footage of the demolition and excavationI've had one of the readers, Rick, send in these time lapse videos that he's put together. The first one shows the final stages of the demolition and the second one shows the entire excavation compressed down to 4 minutes of footage.
More of the lift shafts are starting to pop upI've received quite a detailed update from Bernard, a reader who has contributed in the past. Lots of work is going ahead at the site. It's great to see the site from this vantage point, really puts it into perspective. Many thanks for this contribution!
Footage of the controlled detonation at 300 George StreetThe previous post suggested that there would be a controlled detonation taking place some time at the 300 George site, well it finally happened over the weekend. I had a number of people send in footage of the detonation. Check it out.
January to September time lapse of 1 William Street ConstructionThis isn't exactly the 300 George Street construction, but since the 1 William Street site is in my line of site and I have all the footage from Expressway Cam this is a little treat. Below is a time lapse of of the construction between January and September 2015.
A short video of the excavation progressI've had Dani send these snaps and a video in today. It looks like the excavation is down at least 3 full levels, I'm guessing it's about half way done now.
